Ngaben is a cremation performed Hindus in Bali, the ceremony is performed to purify the spirit of the dead ancestors to the place of final resting by way of cremation. The word itself has an idea of cremation ashes all stock or goal lead on their final release of human life. In Hinduism Brahma has some form other than as a creator god Brahma is also believed to have shape as the God of Fire. So cremation ceremony itself is a process of spiritual purification by fire using fire in order to be able to go back to the creator, an incarnation of Lord Brahma fire could burn all the dirt on the body and spirit of people who have dead.
The bodies are placed in "Bade”
and the whole family lined up in front of" Bade ". Over on his way to
the cremation ceremony, if there is a junction or T-junction, Bade will be
rotated around three times, during the procession was not allowed to cry, not
good for the corpse, though not willingly upon his passing. Bade paraded by the
surrounding community and accompanied by the sound of gamelan & Balinese
holy song. Front and rear side Bade, there are long white cloth that has
meaning as a bridge for the spirits to be able to the place of origin.
On 20 October 2014, a thousands of people deliver the body of Anak Agung Oka Kaleran, of Jero Kaleran Peliatan Ubud. Heat of the sun and highway is not a barrier for bade trip to the cemetery. Bade who has almost 15 meters high and nearly 5 tons brought a distance of around 3 km. Procession arrived at Pura Dalem Puri Tebesaya Setra, where was the last stop, the bodies putted on in "Lembu" prepared by holy man which called Pedanda or a Brahmin chanting mantras, praying until the cremation ceremony implemented, then lembu and Bade which made one month was burned to ashes. The ashes from the cremation placed into the ivory coconuts and daunting to the sea or river is considered sacred. Selamat Jalan Oka!
